Okay, so what about the twenty second century?

Are Earth's cities still destined to be rubble in 2164 when the Daleks invade?

The twenty first centry is when we become aware and accept the idea that we are part of an inter-galactic community, but we are in for a big surprise in the following century.

I suppose the Doctor can't be there to prevent every catastrophy. He has mentioned the rise and fall of Earth's Empires from time to time.

So, we are pretty much screwed in the mid twenty second century I s'pose but thanks to the Doctor, we destroy the invaders and rebuild.

We are then able to grow and become a space fairing civilization for a time? How long? Do we regress?
