The Verdict:
Amazing at the beginning of this episode Sally is with Alan but by the time the end comes she with Brad!
A very tense conclusion to the Scott Little trial and ew....Scott kissing his mother.

Trick or Treat:
Although not a great episode, there were still some parts that I liked.
Funny seeing Shirley as the Grim Reaper.
Very surprising the manner in which Denise learned about Daniel's death (or perhaps not given what he was liked).
This episode is perhaps the silliest that I have seen Jerry in.
What a shocker when Denny meets Bethany's mum and the revelation that she brings.
Lincoln Meyer whacking the judge with a shovel was not something that I saw coming.
Denise and Shirley at that haunted was sure spooky.

Lincoln:
Nice to see Laura Leighton who I am familiar with from Melrose Place and the last time that I saw her was in the Tru Calling episode Daddy's Girl. Boston Legal came a couple of hours after Desperate Housewives which featured Laura's former Melrose co-stars Marcia Cross and Laura's husband Doug Savant. Interestingly the character that Laura plays here in Boston Legal, Erica is similar to Marcia and Doug's character on Melrose. Erica is a lesbian just as Doug's Melrose character is gay and Erica is insane just like Marcia's Melrose character.

Glad that Constance Zimmer is finally in the regular credits. Question is why wasn't she included sooner since she came in at the same time as Craig Bierko.
Funny hearing the Jeopardy theme during the wait on the paternity test.
Surprise to see Cameron Daddo.
Finally what a very good cliffhanger.

I saw Meredith Eaton-Gilden (Bethany) in this week's House episode Merry Little Christmas and she was not bad there.

On The Ledge:
A very good conclusion to last week's episode Lincoln.
Jerry was very impressive in the case with Erica. Glad that Erica was prove not to be the one who killed her girlfriend.
Felt very moved with Alan's conversation with Denny with Alan saying that Denny is his best friend.

The Nutcrackers:
Loretta Devine is another former Boston Public regular to guest star here on Boston Legal but plays a different character as the woman suing God for her husband's death.
Another former Star Trek star with the presence of Michelle Forbes.
The song sang by the twins was outrageous.
Probably not a surprise that we see the return of Clarice/Clarence with Clarence doing well in this episode.
Brad and Jeffrey gets into another fight and get another laugh from it.
Not a bad portrait of Mona Alan!
Finally Alan gets to kiss Shirley but due to a mistletoe from Denny! Oh well you can only take it from anyway you can get it.

Nuts:
Quite funny Clarence being Oprah.
I love Alan's closing on his case. I also quite liked Shirley's as well.
John Marshall Jones (Adam Murch) was a regular on the short-lived series John Doe in which one of his co-stars was Jayne Brook and she has appeared in Boston Legal as Paul's daughter Rachel.

Selling Sickness:
Same sex attraction disorder! Some euphemism on being gay.
The judge on this case is gorgeous.
Funny when Alan asked if they won yet and the judge shouting "MR SHORE".

Fat Burner:
Clarence has his first case as a lawyer and thank goodness he did not resort in becoming Clarice.
Clarence, Paul and Bethany make a good team. As soon as Paul mentioned that he was going to do the closing, I knew that Clarence would do it instead.
Cute that the song "You Got A Friend In Me" from Toy Story was played when Jeffrey was being Buzz Lightyear.

Next week's preview:
It would seem that Alan and Jerry on opposite sides of a case. Be interesting to see how that turns out.

The Good Lawyer:
With the schedule of Torchwood on 10 on Monday, I only got to finish watching this episode yesterday.
It's funny when Alan and Jerry found out they were opposing counsels. Also sad on what it does to their friendship.
Also funny Denny in that temple and I like his reason why he believes in God.

Found out from Andrew Mercado in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph dated June 17 that four cast members have been dropped for the next and fourth season and a new person on the show. This person is someone who had previously appeared on The Practice.

Here is an article which reveals who has been dropped and the aforementioned new person for people who want to know now:

The Bride Wore Blood:
In one of these funny TV coincidences, just as Doctor Who: The Runaway Bride will soon be on the ABC comes this episode from Boston Legal this week about another bride. Here she is called The Bloody Bride.
Megan Mullally is superb as the bride.
What a shocking revelation of who she really is and the real truth of the whole thing.
Absolutely amusing when everybody looked at the door during Alan's closing.

I love the human mind.
Always looking for patterns where none exist.
It explains so much.

She was OK. Not phoned in, not awarding winning either.
Just a day at the office.

The only thing that SHOCKED me was that her Lawyer didn't turn her in.
"Lawyer/Client Privilege"; what a cop out.

And if you've ever spent any time in a real court room, (I've had Jury Duty twice in 3 years), you'll know how different our court system is to the american, (as portrayed on TV at least), and how dead BORING the whole process is when you have to be there for 6 hours a day for anything from 3 days to 3 months to 3 years. (The Jury in the room next door to us had been there for 18 months and where only half way through the estimated run time of the trail).

These shows are "entertainment". Nothing else. They start at the end with a "shock surprise ending" or "stunt" and work backwards to the beginning. It's writing by numbers.

Son of the Defender:
Very good episode using the old hostage storyline (five nights earlier the Medium episode Joe Day Afternoon shown on 10 also had a hostage situation).
Absolutely surprising seeing old black and white clips of a young William Shatner. I looked it up and they came from the anthology series Studio One in the episode The Defender originally shown in 1957. The father was played by Ralph Bellamy. http://www.tv.com/studio-one/the-defender-part-1/episode/72395/summary.html?tag=ep_list;title;19

Too bad Alan missed the entire thing but his storyline was also played out very good as well.

The next episode on Monday July 9 comes third place in TV WEEK's highlights of the day.

Brotherly Love:
That love contract did sound silly. Thank goodness Brad won his case against it. As to him and Denise getting engaged, they don't seem to be exactly jumping for joy on that.
Judge Sanders presiding over the brothers case and who has appeared before in the series is funny in this episode especially him thanking the jury for their service even before the foreperson read out the verdict.

Next week: Yoohoo the knockout judge from a few weeks before is back.

In something related, my sister bought on a bargain sale, the first four episodes of Ally McBeal on DVD. These days I see Calista Flockhart (Ally McBeal) in Brothers & Sisters where one of her on-screen brothers is a.....lawyer. Oh my how much time has passed since Ally McBeal was first shown.

My sister used to watch Ally McBeal & The Practice when it was on 7 but unfortunately due to its late night schedule she does not watch Boston Legal.

Guise n' Dolls:
Denny comments about not sounding black is unbelievable.
Good to see Judge Gloria back again.
Other than that didn't really enjoy this episode that much.

Tea and Sympathy:
I thought it looked really tender for Alan wanting a relationship with Judge Gloria.
This episode featured another former Boston Public regular Joey Slotnick. Nice to see him here.
Clarence vs Jerry. What a battle.

Guantanamo by the Bay:
Funny when the theme was hummed by Jerry!
Nice guest appearances by Mitch Pileggi and Bernadette Peters.
Also funny when Jerry was carrying the Shirley doll right past the real Shirley.
I read in the Sydney Sunday Telegraph that Boston Legal is Bill Clinton's favourite show. I wonder what he thinks of Denny saying that Guantanomo is Hillary's fault!

Duck and Cover:
With Torchwood no longer on Mondays, this is the first Boston Legal episode that I have watched without the need for a timeshift and I watched this following on from the debut of another lawyer show Shark featuring another former Star Trek star and one time Boston Legal guest star Jeri Ryan.
This guest stars Michael Gross (who was Michael J.Fox's [Daniel Post] on-screen father in Family Ties) as Father McClinton. Quite funny when he said that he does not looked up to Martin Luther King Jr as a role model as he is not Catholic.
Was astounded by Alan's silence during the trial due to the perceived rascism of that guy on the stand.
Also guest stars Kali Rocha who I have known from Buffy and most recently in Grey's Anatomy. Always nice to see her.
Oh my of all the judges to be in the hospital to marry Brad and Denise, it had to be Judge Sanders and that baby is very cute.

I've been watching Monarch of the Glen and Tom's character reminds me a lot of William Shatner's character from Boston Legal....
