6AM-8AM:
First of alll like to comment on some of the new people that have turned up on the series.
Raphael Sbarge and Megan Gallagher, who played the husband and wife whose neighbour has been arrested, I have seen in other stuff. In fact coincidentally I saw Sbarge in the morning in the Quantum Leap episode Animal Frat.
Although Alexander Siddig makes his first appearance in 24, he however is not in unfamiliar territory as he guest starred in an episode of Spooks considered by many to be the British 24.
Henry Lennix (Walid Al-Rezani) was a regular in Commander In Chief whose co-stars include Donald Sutherland, Kiefer's father. Oh my the character he plays here in 24 is very different from the one he played in Commander In Chief. In fact beforehand I actually thought that I would seeing him in the White House.
Wayne Palmer President and Bill and Karen married. No surprises there. However I am surprised to see Peter MacNicol as someone we the audience loves to hate.
Overall despite the slow beginning I thought this is a very solid start to Day 6.

8AM-10AM:
An observation:noticed the time of 9:11 being displayed on screen. Probably deliberate.
Liked the music when Ahmed let Jillian go.
Quite fun seeing this fight between Milo and Morris and quite a surprise that Milo and Chloe had a thing together.
Wasn't surprised that Curtis got killed off as Roger Cross has been credited as a guest star rather than as a regular. However I was shocked that he was killed by Jack and I felt a tear in my eye when I saw it happened.
The explosion at the end was not like any other explosion I have seen before.

I have to say that I am not too sure I am happy with the new time of Wednesday 10:30 from next week. Another thing is that it follows on from Heroes & Prison Break both of which I also watch. So Wednesday nights is going to be a marathon for me.

10AM-11AM:
Shock of the hour - seeing who Jack's brother is.
Rena Sofer plays Jack's sister-in-law. I first saw Rena Sofer in Melrose Place and she is not the only Melrose star to appear in 24 as Doug Savant was in Day 3.

11AM-12PM:
This hour introduces Chad Lowe to the series whose brother Rob was also in another presidential environment in The West Wing.
Tom Lennox is one nasty fellow as he blackmailed Karen in resigning her position.
James Cromwell plays Jack's father. When I first found out about his casting, I thought it was a pity that Kiefer's own father Donald Sutherland didn't get to play Jack's father (and as I found out at the time even if Donald was asked he probably couldn't play the part as he is involved with another show). Having said that, on first impressions I think James Cromwell performed very well in the character.
Graem finally shows his true colours and I have to say I did not think he would dropped the pretense this soon.

12PM-1PM:
The most intense scene this hour was Jack's interrogation of Graem.
We finally meet Wayne Palmer's Vice President. (Interestingly whenever there has been a new President on the series we always see his Vice President as well.) Wonder how he would be compare to David Palmer's Vice President Jim Prescott. After all in Day 2 Prescott was not pleased with David's reluctance to go to war with the Middle East and Wayne's Vice President looks very displeased with his President not signing the Executive Order,
The trap for Morris. Really did not see this one coming.
I also did not think that Phillip Bauer was going to be revealed as a baddie. Quite unfortunate that Jack can't choose who is in his family.

EDIT: I am not bothering to read what Dazzler42 said in his response below since it is usually a go at me.

How about showing some consideration for people who might not drop everything to watch a TV show and might be waiting, for example, to watch it on the weekend?

Your spoiler filled posts WITH NO SPOILER WARNINGS are the height of impoliteness on a Forum such as this.

1PM-2PM:
I had a mouth opening moment when Rita shot Darren. Too bad she got killed herself later on.
Michael Reilly Burke (Carson) was seen in the Heroes episode Hiros earlier in the evening.
Terrifying when Fayed drilled on Morris' head.
Looks like Lennox may get in the plot to kill President Palmer. Never thought he would go that far.

2PM-3PM on March 7 comes fourth place in TV WEEK's Pick of the Day.

It was actually Morris' shoulder that got drilled on not his head. My mistake.

2PM-3PM:
Two faces that I am already familiar with appear here: Rade Serbedzija and Natalija Nogulich. Somehow I should not surprise seeing Rade in 24.
Phillip threatens his own grandson. How low can this man get?

Given Dazzler42's irrelevant post, I hereby invoked the 25th amendment incapacitating me from reading any post that is of no relevance here.

3PM-4PM:
What a shock of Logan turning up at the end although I did know he was coming back beforehand from 24 Magazine.
Tom Lennox does not want President Palmer killed at all. Looks like I misjudged him.
7 showed Rena Sofer's first appearance on Heroes earlier in the evening. Seeing her on two shows on the same night is not a bad way to spend Wednesday nights.

Stargate SG-1 star Michael Shanks has signed on for a recurring role in 24:

4PM-5PM:
It is revealed here that the public was never told the true circumstances of Logan's departure from office. Makes me wonder what cover story the public was given.
Much of this hour was spent looking at Morris' alcohol problem. Whether this is padding the episode or becomes significant later on, we just have to wait and see.
Another wow ending to the hour.

5PM-6PM:
Yet another familiar face in Bob Gunton as the Defence Secretary. Coincidentally I saw Gunton four nights earlier in the Monk episode Mr Monk and the Game Show.
Fun casting fact: Kari Matchett (Lisa Miller) was a regular in the short lived series Invasion in which her husband was played by William Fichtner. Fichtner is now a regular on Prison Break which preceded 24 in transmission.
That Russian consulate really looks creepy.
Jack should put this in his CV: "Hobbies include breaking in consulates."

6PM-7PM:
What a neat trick that Jack did with the belt.
As with Gregory Itzin, I knew beforehand from browsing 24 Magazine that Jean Smart being back as Martha. Probably no surprise that she is now with Aaron although I am surprised to see Glenn Morshower (Aaron) as I did not see his name in the credits
I was worried seeing Martha with the knife as she was cutting the kiwi fruit, worries that were justified as she stabbed Charles.
Wow what an impressive raid on the Russian consulate.

7PM-8PM:
Shock of the Hour: Audrey is dead. Look forward to this plot being expanded upon.
I for one do not believe that Nadia is a traitor.
Gripping seeing Jack remote controlling the drone.
Oh my there is really no getting through to Vice President Daniels as he presses on with the military strike despite no nuclear detonation. Looks like things are going to get worse before it gets better.

8PM-9PM:
So moving the way Jack delicately handled Brady.
It looks like the 25th amendment will rear its ugly head again as Vice President Daniels has started a power play with the now revived President Palmer.

9PM-10PM:
The vote on the 25th amendment here is in contrast to the one held in Day 2 during David Palmer's presidency. The one in Day 2 was recorded on a computer with each Cabinet member stating their vote. Here the vote is by a show of hands. I guess the difference is the Day 2 vote ended that hour hence nding that episode on a dramatic note while the Day 6 vote was held within the first ten minutes of the hour.
I hate to agree with Daniels but he did have a point about the validity of Karen's vote. Not because of the technicality of her resignation but because the National Security Advisor is not really a member of Cabinet. The Constitution itself states that the vote has to be determined by the principal officers of the executive departments or any such body. The National Security Advisor is not the head of a department or any such body. Given the name of the position the National Security Advisor is to advise the President on National Security matters.

Surprised that Doyle covered up for Milo.

Also surprise to see Fayed being being up by civilians. I guess it is not every day that ordinary people gets to beat up a well known terrorist.

However the biggest surprise came with the way the hour ended. It was shocking indeed.

Last night on 10 saw the 1995 movie Nick of Time starring Johnny Depp in which the film takes place in real time, therefore using the premise that would be used six years later on 24.

In fact the plot of Nick of Time is similar to that of Day 1. Wonder if 24 got its idea from this film.

As to the film itself it played out the real time premise very well but unlike 24 which showed the time via the on-screen caption, we the audience only know the exact time from the clocks that are shown on-screen.

A very good way to spend the time while waiting for Day 6: 10PM-11PM.

10PM-11PM:
The nuclear strike turned out to be a bluff. It was brilliantly played.
I noticed that Wayne is wearing a wedding ring which means that he is married. I had assumed that he was unmarried since his sister, not his wife who was by his bedside when he was in a coma. Wonder why the First Lady was not there at all?
The fake rescue, did not see that coming.
Fayed makes an escape through a tunnel. Coincidentally the Prison Break episode that was on last week also had an escape through a tunnel. Must be a popular way to make an escape.
Very good fight scene between Jack and Fayed.
This is perhaps the best hour of this day I have seen so far and the way the hour ended is a very good bonus.

11PM-12AM:
Basically a "calm before a storm" episode.
Not the least bit surprise that there is a thing between Daniels and Lisa Miller.
Just as the plan to rescue Audrey seemed to be going smoothly when Daniels becomes Acting President upon President Palmer's collapse and calls the whole thing off. Of course in typical Jack fashion he goes rogue once again. Oh my things are not looking well here.
Liked the music played at the end of the episode.

12AM-1AM:
Another familiar face I see this time from Jonathan Adams, former regular on Bones.
Oh dear, it can't be easy for Karen to fire Bill.
Bill tells Nadia that she would be Acting CTU Director until Division could send in an Interim Director. Don't mean to argue about semantics but if people would look up a thesaurus the word "acting" and "interim" mean the same thing. I guess the distinction here is that Nadia is Acting Director for a short period until the Interim Director takes over. The Interim Director is then in charge until a more permanent replacement is appointed.
Thank goodness for Doyle's intervention otherwise Jack would have been dead even though Cheng got away with the circuit in the process.
Oh no, what has happened to Audrey for her to be in the state she is in.
