Smile:
I only like the storyline of Alan helping a young girl who can't smile getting into an academy. The storyline with Bev's cat is also fun.

Being a Catholic I really did not like the case of the rape victim and a Catholic hospital.

Shock and Owww!:
Wasn't able to mention this before but Jayne Brook who plays Paul's daughter Rachel was a regular in the short-lived series John Doe starring Dominic Purcell (who is now star of Prison Break). It's quite nice to see her again.
Currie Graham is back as Ginsberg. Before this episode began he was seen in the Desperate Housewives episode It Wasn't Meant To Happen. Bizarrely enough the Boston Legal & Desperate Housewives episodes both featured a support group and the Serenity prayer in it.
Funny when Denny called Denise, blondie.
Shirley gets Alan's help in getting nude photos that was taken of her in her youth. I have to say I understood Alan's reaction upon seeing the photos as I had a similar experience with the woman I love.
I was thinking as they were trying to negotiate for the photos why doesn't Alan just buy and that is exactly what he did.
Brad befriends Rachel in order to find out for Paul whether she is still using. When he was in the aforementioned support group he explained in detail about being in Operation Desert Storm. I thought into detail about it wasn't necessary for the group to know.
Quite funny with the potential jurors all saying that they are American homeowners.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang shown two nights ago featured another appearance by Tom Selleck as Shirley's ex Ivan. Of course he is well remembered as the title character in Magnum PI. Well funnily enough during an ad break I was watching a bit of the Medium episode S.O.S. which I recorded on 10 last week and I happened to catch this particular line:
From TV.com guide on the Medium episode:
"Joe (to Allison): What case are you working on today, Magnum Dubois?

This is a reference to the TV series Magnum P.I.."

Quite a coincidence that turned out to be.

Word Salad Days:
Ron Canada again makes an appearance as Judge Willard Reese. The day before this episode came on I saw him in The West Wing episode The Stormy Present.
The case of the man with two wives. Every man's dream. Too bad he was found guilty but luckily Denise got him probation. One of his wives Evette was played by Tessa Auberjonois, Rene's daughter. Tessa however does not share screen time with her father. It's funny Paul's daughter Rachel came up as a subject of discussion while Rene's real life daughter is also in the episode.
The case of a video game that killed a boy. Coincidentally I am currently reading the Doctor Who novel Winner Takes All which also has a plot of a dangerous video game. I have to say that I do not find at all the client from the video game company to be endearing.
Jessica (Aja Evans) is knock-out gorgeous. Too bad Alan's word salad cock things up for him when talking to her.
So funny that Denny was packing up only to be told by Alan that he was packing up Alan's things instead of his own.

Race Ipsa:
Here is an interesting thing about the episode from TV.com:
"This episode was originally intended to air as episode 18 of Season 1. When the season was cut short due to the success of Grey's Anatomy, the last 5 episodes of the season were held back until Season 2. For unknown reasons, Race Ipsa wasn't aired at the beginning of the season but instead held until near the end of Season 2, with a completely reworked story to eliminate the old characters and integrate the new ones."

This would explain why Kerry Washington is in this episode as Chelina who was last seen in episode 17 of season 1 which ultimately ended it Death Be Not Proud. Anyway it was nice to see her again after a long while.
Since everyone seemed to like Peter MacNicol's role as Fish in Ally McBeal I guess it was inevitable that he would turn up in Boston Legal albeit as a different character. Here he plays Dr. Sydney Field, Denny's therapist. What would have been a turn of the mill scene came Dr Field's unexpected threat to Denny to shoot him or he would shoot Denny. Denny does indeed shoot Dr Field but does not kill him.
Later on in court Dr Field pulls a gun and is shot again by Denny!!! Security must have been really lax for two guns to be in the same courtroom.
Brad takes kissing lessons from Denise. I so wish that was me taking lessons from her.

Deep End of the Poole:
Edwin Poole comes back but to be expected he gets the firm into trouble by sueing a candy company. Funny how he mentioned the name of the firm. Also good is the shot of Poole's name just before we see him.
Quite funny the exchange between Shirley and the candy company's attorney Vivian Marino (played by the pretty Annabelle Gurwitch).
This is the first time I have seen Christian Clemenson as Jerry since finding out that he is in the upcoming movie United 93 (an ad of which appeared during the final ad break for this episode).
Somehow I don't like this thing between Brad and Denise.

In TV WEEK's list of Top Ten Comebacks of people in entertainment who have made a successful comeback in their careers, William Shatner for his role on Boston Legal as well as the Practice came in at seventh place. (Stefan Dennis of Neighbours came in first).

Squid Pro Quo:
I was thinking "What the...?" as everyone at the firm was reciting the oath.
Very funny as Parker Posey first appears as Marlene Stanger with that exchange with Denise. Parker was very good as this character.
Derek is played by Chris Moynihan and he was Jeff in the US version of Coupling. He says he always makes jokes but him saying "opunion" I am not too sure was funny.
Funny when Denny says Mexican, Chinese and if anyone was hungry.
Alan's closing was funny as he fooled the audience for one moment that he was arguing for the other side.
Preview for next week: Jeri Ryan appears in the next episode and oh my she looks stunning.

Spring Fever:
Talk about spring, spring officially begins here in Oz on Friday September 1.
The reprise seemed very long.
Oh good Jeri Ryan is credited as a Special Guest Star. As I said before she looks stunning.
Got taken aback seeing Denny in a wetsuit.
Parker Posey is getting better in as Marlene and it is hard to believe now the character she played in Superman Returns.
Unbelievable Marlene's proposition to Alan.
We see the firm's LA branch. This brings into mind that if this show was called Los Angeles Legal, it would have the initials LAL, same as LA Law.
Denny mentioned the death of former US Defence Secretary Casper Weinberger. I only just found out moments ago that he died five months ago in March.
Love the rivalry between Denise and Marlene and that race as the William Tell tune was played.
Nice to see Rachel again.
Had no idea that was Wes Craven in the courtroom until his name was mentioned afterwards.
Cute the beer called Schmidt.
That was a shock Alan saying "kill me" which was then followed by a gunshot. Could not believe Courtney shot someone.

BL: Los Angeles:
So funny the shots of Courthey's cleavage in the beginning not to mention Denny and Barry chasing after her. Now we get an idea of what would have happened had Captain Kirk met Seven of Nine in Star Trek.
As with last week, there is a chase with Denise and Marlene but this time Denise won. So funny especially when Marlene bumped her head in the drawer.
It is sad that Denise won't become a partner but gets cheered up with Daniel's return. He asked her a question and we are left wondering for the time being of what would her answer be.
Very funny reunion between Alan and Marlene.

Can't We All Get a Lung?:
A very cute name for the episode.
So funny when Denny kissed the just engaged Denise.
I was thinking that Marisa Coughlan has now become a regular but alas I was mistaken.
Rene Auberjonois' former DS9 co-star Armin Shimerman guest stars as a judge but not in a case with Paul. Pity.

New Kids on the Block:
Quite fun at the start as there are couple of new people on the show with Denny saying if they were new people they would have turned up in the season premiere before saying "Welcome to Boston Legal" and then cueing the music.

Desperately Seeking Shirley:
Quite funny the reason Alan gave in representing Ivan against Shirley.
This show keeps on getting the Star Trek stars as Ethan Phillips guest stars. He plays the father of a young man charged with the murder of a female judge whose husband is another judge played by another Star Trek star Armin Shimmerman. Talk about a (Star Trek) conflict of interest.

Talk about Armin, he and Rene will finally have a reunion in next week's episode.

Fine Young Cannibal:
The reunion between former DS9 stars Rene Auberjonois and Armin Shimerman does not disappoint.
In regards to the cannibalism case, it was funny when Alan joked about eating Diane Sawyer and constantly giving the reminder that Ginsberg's name is on the ballot paper. However was not impress with Alan bringing up the Holy Communion as an example in the case.

Yoo hoo Lake Bell is back as Sally in next week's episode. Hopefully this is a good indicator that Monica Potter and Rhona Mitra will return to the show as well even it is only a one-off guest appearance.

Whose God Is It Anyway?:
Great to see Lake Bell back again as Sally but did not like the circumstances of her return and once again not impress with Alan's approach to religion. It is great to see from the preview that this is not a one-off appearance by Lake as she is in next week's episode.
Over at the Scott Little trial shocking to hear from his father of Scott being in love with his mother.
