Some of you may or may not know, but the DWCA has been looking at doing shirts for a while now, so I decided to do something about it. Anyone at the day event in Sydney a few weeks ago would've noticed a couple of foxy young ladies as well as myself wearing a DWCA T-shirt which I designed.
They look something like this:
Front Back
The shirts are of very good quality (ie. won't fall apart after 3 wash cycles), are vinyl printed and would cost in the range of about $40 each, give or take a few dollars depending on demand. Obviously, the bigger the demand, the more chance the price has of dropping.
Now, here's the important bit: The question is, are you interested in purchasing one?
You will note, the question is not "Is this too expensive" or "would you prefer another design". It is not a debate. It is a simple matter of would you be willing to part with $40 or so of your hard earned for one of these shirts or not.
I am already aware of the fact that $40 is a lot of money. I myself shelled out more than that per shirt just to get 5 printed for the purpose of showing them off.
Comments and questions are more than welcome, but anything along the lines of "I would if they cost less" will just be removed.

Hi
The "second" one is actually the back of the first one. (ie there is only one design what you see is the back and front of the T-shirt)

Sorry thought that was kind of obvious, but then I did the mockup so maybe it isn't.
The Prydonian seal (the celtic like symbol on the front of 8 Doctors and a few other places besides) is copyright to people other than us and we cant use it. I'd love to be able to use that as I reckon I could come up with some kick arse designs using it, but unfortunately, like a lot of Doctor Who images, we simply can't legally use them for copyright reasons.
There's a bit of interest outside the forum as well, so at this early stage it looks like it's probably a goer. If it is, I'll make arrangements to take sizes and orders, probably through the shop, but we'll keep you posted. |

$20 - $30 is fine with me....and yep....I thought there were 2 t-shirts as the back bit sort of doesn't match the font bit.....could you draw them kinda "2-D" so I've got a better idea....more visual maybe.....like to see how it connects |

Nice one. What part of this sentence in my original post did you not understand?

One more time: I don't care how much you would pay, or would prefer to pay. There is no bartering. There is no haggling. There is no "I'll only pay what I can afford" or "I'll only pay what I think it's worth". The price, as previously stated, will be about $40. End of.

I think it would be an honour because of their uniquetness actually.....would you be using Bonds T-Shirts (a good brand and they last for ages).....people have to realise the time AND effort that comes with creating designer t-shirts.....the back looks Celtic....I know I would buy one out of loyalty.....most shirts I've seen over the years are bland....the mass produced ones..... |

The brand of shirt is Australian Spirit (Made in... China - where else?), and were printed by Mabuzi in Sydney. Trust me, the shirts are of very good quality and will last.
I was looking at something unique, but of course, the consequence of something that isn't that easy to mass produce is the cost goes up. A lot of the decent mass produced shirts are at least $30 anyway (go and look in your local ABC Shop and I'll bet there'll be plenty of shirts there for $35 or $40), and we could probably get it down to that sort of cost if we were willing to order 1000, but let's face it, we're not going to move anywhere near that many, so that drives the cost up. The vinyl print also drives the cost up as well, but the design means it can't be done with a screen. The only other way to do it would be to print it before the T-shirt was made, but that's only going to drive the price higher again. |

Had a look in the ABC Shop in QVB here in Sydney earlier today.
Adult Ts are going from between $33 and $45, and the $33 ones didn't seem to be of great quality.
There was a size 1 Thomas the Tank Engine shirt going for $27 believe it or not.
These don't include any shirts that had been marked down. That's just bog standard price. |

I have washed my T a few times and it is wearing very well, I have to say. To be honest $40 is cheap compared to the T's people are buying now. I went into a women's clothes shop the other say and they were selling thin tie dyed T's for $80!
You've done an awesome job with the shirt, I've even had people comment on mine at work |
