Celebrating Doctor Who’s Sapphire Anniversary
Drummoyne RSL - 162 Victoria Rd Drummoyne
SUNDAY NOVEMBER 23rd 11am to 6pm
PLEASE NOTE: -Julie Brennon unfortunately cannot attend this event due to work commitments, but she will be attending our next event on January 18th, see below for details.
Activities on the day will include:-
v The Gallifreyan Time Love Brigade "Doctor Who Cosplay Theatre" - Be prepared to laugh (or cry) as three fangirls (and one fanboy) in costume act out original Doctor Who related skits live on stage for the fun. This event we'll be performing "Timey Wimey Valiant of Doom" originally performed at Sydney Supanova 08, which won runner up best group. What happens when the Fifth Doctor meets the Tenth just a little too soon? Hilarity ensues of course!
v The 2008 DWCA Mastermind - Come prepared as our Quiz Master challenges you to a mind bending contest to recall trivia from 45 years of Doctor Who.
v Ancestor Sell: The Inaugural Annual DWCA Auction - If you've got a collection you to thin down, avoid the hassles of dealing with eBay and give your fellow club member a chance to bid on it cash in hand!
v Morton’s Fork - Yet more pointless but kind of fun questions will be posed so people can vote with their feet, and even get the chance to tell everyone why.
v The DWCA shop will be on hand for all your Doctor Who purchases, and Drummoyne RSL's bistro is just downstairs for a bite to eat at lunch time.
Admission Adults $10 DWCA/FSF members $8
Children under 16 $6 Concession discount $1
Public Transport
The 500 series buses from the city (along George Street) and the 520 bus from Parramatta Railway Station (which passes Rydalmere and West Ryde Railway stations) goes past the club. The 492 bus from Rockdale Station (which passes Kingsgrove, Campsie and Burwood Railway Stations) ends at the corner of Lyons Rd and Victoria Rd - a short walk to the club.
