The monthly poll was originally set up as a kind of bridge between the DWCA presence online and in print - that is, it was used as source material for Data Extract. Then suddenly that stopped happening - don't know why, possibly there was more than enough real Who news and material to fill the pages.

I have to say that I then started to forget the poll - I'd suddenly remember that I hadn't started a new one and it was the twenty-somethingth of the month.

I've started thinking about what to do with it. The poll is quite popular, in terms of the numbers of votes and comments it generates, but it is also a bit of a chore. With no link through to the print presence of the DWCA, that doesn't mean it should stop.

I've got the beginnings of an idea of how to handle it, but part of this has to take into account the different ways people see the new series (those who pop over to the UK by their various time/space vehicles to watch it broadcast live vs those hardy souls who wait for it to go out on-air locally), so we don't want it to become a nasty place where people need to be afraid of spoilers if they open a poll.
