I've had a request to recreate this thread, the purpose of which is to keep people appraised of when Doctor Who and related merchandise is available and from where. I was planning to do it in any case, but the nudge was helpful.
This is very much an audience participation thread. I live in Canberra, and hence have no real way of knowing what's available in other parts of the country, so if you see a new item of merchandise please contact me - there are buttons to email or send a private message at the bottom of each post, so use them, or just reply to this thread.
The overall intention is to keep our fellow Doctor Who fans appraised of things they might want to obtain.
I will delete superfluous posts in this thread (where the information is recorded in the first post), and the initial post itself will be pruned back from time to time so it isn't too big.
Thanks, in advance, for helping to make this thread work!

| I got a nice package from Big Finish yesterday - the first two releases in the new series of Dalek Empire and The Companion Chronicles. It's old companion heaven as Peter Purves, Fraser Hines, Maureen O'Brien and (not so old) Noel Clarke all get lead roles. For the three men, all making their first BF appearances. |

Today I received two items from Big Finish - the final in the current Companion Chronicles series, The Catalyst read by Louise Jameson with Timothy Watson; and Dead London, the first in a new series featuring the 8th Doctor and Lucie.
And yesterday I got Newtons Sleep, the first Faction Paradox volume published by New Zealand company Random Static. |

Which, curiously, has the Doctor and Martha on one side, and... three Daleks on the other. Why them? Why not the Master? |
Clearing that up... it's the ABC Shops special version.
And Greg, you must tell me how 'Newtons Sleep' is. Even though I'm going to buy it anyway, it'd just be a thrill hearing people say, "Faction Paradox is back and kicking arse!" Or something perhaps less cliched. |

Not sure when I'll get to Newtons Sleep - I tell people I'm buying books for my retirement!
However, it does weigh in at about 100 more pages than the previous FP volumes, but is otherwise of a like format in terms of height and width, etc. |

My copy of The Condemned, a 6th Doctor audio, arrived today. This story features the Doctor's new companion - Charley Pollard. Sounds familiar, doesn't she?
Somehow I managed to forget to say that I also received Max Warp, the 2nd in the new series if 8th Doctor and Lucie adventure, a few weeks ago... Thi story also feature Graeme Garden, formerly of the Goodies, back for another guest role. |

What's with the new (or rather "mix of old") theme for the 2nd series of the 8th Doctor/Lucie audios? Is it also on 'Max Warp' (I only have 'Dead London')? Any idea why it was picked up?
GOD, I HATE IT.
Sorry, but I do. |

I'm sure the new theme is a special tribute to JNT - the master of change for change's sake, and who cares if it is better?
I don't care for it. I don't really care about it, either!
And yes, it is on both Dead London and Max Warp - so suck it up, buckaroo! |

Whoa, hang on a sec - I wasn't aiming anything at you with my post before. I said "sorry, but I do" to anyone who likes the theme, just generally. It was just a comment that I chose for the hell of it, not thinking it through. So - er, to use it again - sorry.
Actually, my problem with it is the lack of change. I'm all for having a new theme. But it's not; it's a mix of old themes. And that's why I don't like it. |

Nah, I didn't think you were aiming anything at me.
I blame my exciting flu filled head for any communication misfires that might be happening. |

Ah. I figured you were because of the exclamation marks, actually.
Man, the internet is so hard to work out when someone's kidding, serious, furious or light-hearted sometimes. Maybe I should use emoticons more often. |

I just thought I'd mention that at the new Strand JB Hi Fi shop in Sydney they have had copies of "Beneath the Surface" for $26.98 on sale for the last week.
I was in there at lunch time today and there are still a few left (but they are not in the DW section, but on a new releases shelf at the end of one of the shelves).
