Thanks to an update by JamesValentine1979 in the FAQ at the K-9 Adventures section of the Gallifrey forum, I have just received new information regarding this series:
Broadcast Magazine has listed Andrew Nicholls and Darrell Vickers (other than K-9 co-creator Bob Baker) as writers.

The expected delivery date is July 2008.

Since you have to be a member of the Gallifrey forum to read the FAQ, I am now providing a link elsewhere that has reported on this news:
http://gallifreyanembassy.org/portal/article.php?story=20070626222453557

8/8: Changed the thread name from "K-9 Adventures" to simply "K-9" as that is what the show is now called.

It is actually a mixture of computer animation and live action and you're welcome.

Apparently K-9 is an Australian production.

As reported by Outpost Gallifrey, Australia's Film Finance Corporation has approved funding for the series.

In a news release it says: "When we meet him in the new 26-part Australian kids' show K9, this highly intelligent creature is guarding an abandoned prison transportation craft."

The series looks like will be shown on 10 as Outpost Gallifrey also says that 10 has come onboard the series.

The sources of support for these things are just getting weirder. Torchwood is played by Ten... K9 Adventures is funded by Australia, and it may be played on Ten... it's getting freakishly topsy-turvy.

(Then, which most won't care about, a New Zealand company are publishing Faction Paradox. Our side of the globe is getting a fair bit of Who-related action now)

Unless my memory completely deceives me, the ABC provided some funding for The Five Doctors all those years ago...

fascinating info about down under's who!

the problem with channel 10 playing K-9, is it will probably be binned like Torchwood's timeslot.

hopefully ABC will take it instead.

Well it's a kids show, so I doubt they'll be playing it at midnight.

To be fair, I don't have much respect for Channel Ten's viewers, either.

Myk Gantt at the Doctor Who Forum posted the following links there:
http://www.accessmylibrary.com/coms2/summary_0286-34518026_ITM
http://www.pftc.com.au/pftc/news/content.asp?pageid=486&top=480

According to the former link production on the series has recently started on June 5 and will wrap up on November 30.

The latter link says that Bob Baker is in Queensland for filming of the series.

Note: It says that Baker wrote nine episodes of Doctor Who!?! Obviously it meant nine stories.

Anyway it is good there is some news about it after a very long while.

With Journey's End having ended this year's season of Doctor Who on the weekend on ABC1 and with Torchwood on 10HD and Sarah Jane Adventures soon to start on Nickelodean Australia, the next Who-related thing that will be on a channel that everybody can watch will probably be the K-9 series given 10 is involved in the production of it, that is if none of the upcoming Doctor Who specials will be shown on ABC1 beforehand. As posted before filming for the K-9 series finishes next month.

The production site is now password protected. Apparently SFX may have caused this to happen:
